Where did you go to school and how did you decide your major?

I attended The Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree (AKA “Home of the Buckeyes”). I was really interested in studying business, but wanted to use my analytical skills more than the curriculum offered; thus, I pursued a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. My major allowed me to further develop my problem-solving skills, while touching on the key components of business, without getting too much into the technical side of engineering.

Why were you interested in healthcare consulting? What stood out to you most about Pathstone during the recruitment process?

I was interested in healthcare consulting because I wanted a career that was going to be challenging, while also providing variety. The healthcare space is a huge market and will always be a growing space with lots of opportunities to learn.

Pathstone Partners stood out to me during recruitment because of their unique approach to consulting, which allows for long-term and meaningful client relationships. It was clear to me that at Pathstone, I would not just be an analyst, like most entry-level associate positions are, but also a negotiator, discussion leader, and everything in between. It is also a smaller firm, which allows for a strong work culture, the opportunity to learn from your co-workers, and lots of freedom in your work. Since starting at Pathstone, my favorite part has been the people, who have supported me in tacking new projects and problems and have allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

What do you like most about living in Chicago?

My favorite part about Chicago is its diversity in people, food, and culture. There’s always something to do in the city, whether it’s trying a new restaurant, going to a concert, or meeting new people. In my free time, I like to work out and play soccer and volleyball in Chicago’s recreational sports leagues.

I will also use any excuse to go to Lake Michigan with my friends in the summers. I am originally from Lebanon, which is on the Mediterranean Sea, so I am used to having a large body of water nearby and really enjoy hanging at the beach, swimming, and boating. During my first week at Pathstone, we all went on a sunset boat cruise on the lake, which was a fantastic way to get to the Pathstone team more and has been my favorite Pathstone memory so far!

You speak multiple languages and are a frequent world traveler. What are some items on your bucket list?

I have always wanted to go Great White Shark cage diving in South Africa. People perceive sharks as these “killing machines” when they are great creatures. I have an app that allows me to track sharks and their migration patterns that I check on probably too often. I also would love to go to Norway to go salmon fishing under the Northern Lights.

What’s one thing you’re good at / proud of, but doesn’t really matter to anyone else?

I am exceptionally good at a combination of weird sports that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. For both soccer and badminton, I have competed at national and international levels, traveling to places like Jordan, UAE, France, and Sweden to play. I also enjoy playing tennis and won a tournament at tOSU during my third week of college and in the US. I am really good at Foosball as well and am still waiting for someone in the Pathstone office to beat me.
