Where did you grow up? Where did you go to school and how did you decide your major?

I grew up in northern New Jersey, about 45 minutes outside of Manhattan, in a town called Summit. We used to go to NYC every so often like to see The Rocketts for Christmas.

I attended the University of Notre Dame. I decided on finance since I always knew I wanted to do something in business and enjoyed math. I liked that there was always a right answer within math and I had interest in financial markets. I also knew that a finance degree would give me a good foundation to pursue opportunities in a variety of industries/market sectors.

How did you choose healthcare consulting?

I wanted to get into consulting since you weren’t always focused on one thing at a time and had a lot of variety within the work. I didn’t know really what type of consulting I wanted to do but thought healthcare was interesting because it was always ever-changing and an industry that benefits a larger population. I applied to a lot of consulting firms throughout my recruitment process, both big and small. In my previous experiences, I enjoyed working at a boutique firm to have those closer relationships. I realized a small firm provided more opportunities to grow quicker.

What makes Pathstone unique from your other healthcare consulting experiences?

I really do think that Pathstone has a great commitment to its people and their growth. Pathstone gives people the platform to learn and make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. We are hyper cognizant of the individual’s growth which I think is a rare trait of a typical consulting firm. There is a lot of turnover in consulting and Pathstone takes feedback from all employees and places an emphasis on listening to everyone to continuously improve. The culture is unique.

You’re a big foodie. Where are some of the best restaurants you’ve tried in Chicago?

That’s a loaded question. One of my favorite spots in Lakeview when I first moved here was Dry Hop Brewers. It’s a more lowkey neighborhood place that had a great burger and green curry mussels in the summer. For nicer occasions, I like Trivoli Tavern and RPM Seafood. A new restaurant I’ve recently tried and enjoyed is RoseMary.

You can often be found watching sports in the office or on your phone. If you could only watch one sport for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would have to say college football. College football has a different atmosphere than any other profession or collegiate sport. There are only 32 teams in NFL, but with college football, there are so many teams, all with unique traditions that are school specific. I think the traditions, rivalries, and history that are interwove into college football make it such a unique viewing experience. In my opinion, there’s nothing better than sitting in a stadium with 85,000 other people watching your college team on a Saturday afternoon.
