Where did you go to school and how did you decide your major?

I went to Michigan State University, where I decided to double major in International Relations and Economics with two minors: Business and Political Economy. I always had an interest in world politics and wanted to pursue a degree that would expand my knowledge of that while enhancing my business skills. When deciding on where to go to college, I was in between a Big Ten school or small liberal arts college. Ultimately, I decided to go to MSU because of their residential program, James Madison. The program offered a small liberal arts college feel at a Big Ten university and I had the opportunity of really getting to know my professors and build meaningful relationships given the Socratic classes.

Why were you interested in healthcare consulting? What stood out to you most about Pathstone during the recruitment process?

I have always thought consulting would be a great way to start my career. When I began to explore consulting as a career path in college, I knew I wanted a boutique setting and to join a company with a mission focused on serving others. During my junior year, I interned at a healthcare IT company that focused on healthcare and EHR integrations which got me interested in healthcare. It was important for me to find a firm with a mission that aligned with my values. Pathstone Partners was the perfect choice for me since it aligned a career in consulting while helping serve others in a boutique firm setting.

What do you like most about living in Chicago?

The lake and the food! I have lived close to Lake Michigan for the past couple years and have loved having a large fresh body of water only a 10-minute walk from my apartment.  Also, the food scene in Chicago is incredible. I can safely say that I have had some of the best meals of my life at restaurants in the city.

You are a frequent traveler. What are some of your favorite travel spots and places on your bucket list?

A travel spot that holds a special place in my heart is Dublin, Ireland. I interned in Dublin during undergrad and fell in love with the city – kind people, beautiful landscape, and great beer! Another recent favorite is Mexico City for the food and liveliness. Some other favorites are Greece, Mount Rainier in Washington, and Croatia. For my bucket list, I really want to go on more ecotourism trips and visit national parks around the country. Acadia National Park and Costa Rica are on top of my list, and I can’t wait to visit!

What’s one thing not many people know about you?

I love to write! I’ve always enjoyed writing throughout school, and I try to keep up with the habit as much as I can. It’s a life goal to write a book one day.
