Where did you go to school and how did you decide your major?

I go to Ohio State University, and I’m an industrial and systems engineering major. Engineering is something that I’ve always had an interest in and always something that I wanted to do, and this major specifically gives me the most flexibility and options in terms of deciding a career path.

How did you choose healthcare consulting for your internship?

Growing up in a healthcare setting, I’ve always had an interest in it. I also have a lot of experience in non-engineering fields like business. Being around healthcare for a big part of my life, I knew the combination of healthcare and business would be an easy and engaging space to work in, and I knew healthcare consulting would be the perfect overlap.

What are you most excited about for your summer in Chicago?

I’m most excited to explore the city and really make the most of all the various things Chicago has to offer from its beaches to the big city fields, getting to go to different sports games and trying new things. I’m also excited to take on new challenges at work and the responsibility that comes with it, as well as meeting new people and broadening my horizons socially being in a new city.

What is your proudest accomplishment of your undergraduate career thus far?

In the fall of 2021, I started a club at Ohio State for professional development. It is a club that is open to all majors at the university and not only limited to business or economics majors. In less than a year, it has already grown to more than 100 people and it’s a great feeling to be able to help students prepare for their jobs and aid them in the recruitment process.

Intern Spotlight: AnthonyIs this job what you expected it to be?

It isn’t exactly what I expected it to be, but I mean that in the best possible way. In the last few weeks, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The overall breadth of work is a lot wider than I thought it was, and the project I’ve been working on is extremely interesting. It feels different than the traditional consulting route and is very engaging daily

What are your favorite activities to do outside of schoolwork and interning?

Some of my favorite things to do are go to the gym, watch movies, and try new places. I enjoy working out and end up going to the gym almost every day of the week. Recently, I’ve been trying to watch at least two new movies a week, because that is something I don’t get as much time to do during school. I also love seeing what different places have to offer and love trying new things. Intern Spotlight: AnthonyIf you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Chipotle – it’s one place I never get sick of. Although I have a very simple order it’s all the things that I like to eat in one meal. You can never go wrong with it – and it has so much variety too.
