Where did you go to school and how did you decide your major?

I go to the University of Chicago. I went in only wanting to be a chemistry major, but later added economics. I loved the chemistry classes but knew I didn’t want to work in a research heavy area. I found the overlap between chemistry and economics to be interesting, while also providing me with different job opportunities.

How did you choose healthcare consulting for your internship?

Like I mentioned in my earlier answer, it is a great combination between science and economics. It is a more business heavy field, but I get to draw on the skills from my science background. Specifically, healthcare is always relevant and changing which is super interesting to me.

What are you most excited about for your summer in Chicago?

I am already going to school in Chicago but living downtown instead of Hyde Park will be exciting. I am looking forward to checking off some of the bucket list spots that I haven’t been able to hit yet. I’ve heard the summer is the best time of the year, so I am excited to see it in full force.

What is your proudest accomplishment of your undergraduate career thus far?

I was able to write and publish a booklet on what it is like to be an athlete in India. This booklet contained resources for all types of athletes, and I was able to get funding to produce and distribute this booklet to athletes and parents. It was nice to spread knowledge, and raise funds for a charity I supported from the distribution.

Intern Spotlight: Ari Is this job what you expected it to be?

In some ways, yes. In some ways, no – but I mean both of those in the best possible way. I enjoy the hands-on experience and the projects we get to be a part of, as well as the work we get to do. It is extremely engaging and interesting to be closely involved with clients and to also get a grasp of what a full-time position looks like.

What are your favorite activities to do outside of schoolwork and interning?

I’m an active person that is into all types of sports, but my number one would be swimming. I am also into photography and love travelling and exploring. I enjoy spending some of my free time at the gym as well.

Intern Spotlight: AriIf you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza. However, I am more of a fan of New York style rather than Chicago deep dish. I can eat pizza whenever; any time of the day works. It’s just as good cold as it is hot, it’s just so versatile.
